Laura Siktberg, LCSW
Therapist (She / Her)
I provide empathy, hope, and solutions to my clients and want to ensure you know you are not alone in this. As a therapist in Nashville, Tennessee, specializing in EMDR therapy, depression, ADHD, and OCD, I would be honored to meet you exactly where you are and guide you toward the best version of yourself. It is important to me that you leave our sessions feeling heard, supported, and empowered to get back on your feet, and hopefully, we’ll share a laugh or two along the way. Being human is hard, and I’m here to walk beside you through it with compassion and care.

Connection
I want my clients to know that I am human too and can understand a lot of what you’re going through. I am not a “blank slate” or “poker face” therapist- you will get insight into what I am thinking and hear about my lived experiences too, when appropriate.
01.
Openness
I enter each session with warm curiosity and hope clients know they are safe to share with me. I am also open to feedback and input from clients on how they feel therapy is going and what preferences they have for structuring our sessions. While yes, I have the training and experience, each client is their personal expert.
02.
Balance
Our sessions will feel like a healthy mix of the human-to-human connection I mentioned previously, discussing our recent favorite reads or current events, as well as doing some healing trauma work and gaining coping skills.

Outside of Work
What's a quote that reflects your therapeutic style?
“When you feel like you need more grit or persistence, what you need is more help. When you feel like you need more discipline, what you need is more kindness. And when you look at someone else and feel like they need more grit, what they need is more help. And when you look at someone else and think they need more discipline, what they need is more kindness”-Emily Nagoski
What does self-care look like for you?
"Love me a good historical fiction book, Armchair Expert podcast, walking my perfect dog Nellie, and eating queso with people I love."
What is one thing you are currently learning or trying to improve in your own life?
"Generally, balance. Trying to slow down and say no more often (I hope my therapist reads this and is proud of me!!). Specifically, a tripod headstand from a wide-legged forward fold in yoga. I am determined."

Experience
Experience working in outpatient clinical settings, helping individuals navigate family dysfunction, trauma history, relationship conflict, neurodivergence, and anxiety disorders. Laura has worked with both children and adults and found her niche in the adult population. Past experience has taught Laura that no two clients are the same and that showing up with openness to each new client is one of the best gifts we can give.

"Sometimes your mind plays tricks on you. It can tell you you’re no good, that it's all hopeless… But I’ve discovered this… You are loved and important and you bring to this world things no one else can. So hold on."
- Charlie Mackesy
